RECITAL PROGRAMME INFORMATION
Looking ahead, we have a fantastic selection of music for the 2011/2012 Season, music that we are sure will delight and enthral audiences everywhere.We are delighted to be playing the sublime Quartet 'Death and the Maiden' by Schubert, surely one of the highlights of any ensembles portfolio, full of the most marvellous melodies and dramatic expression.
To complement this and for his Centenary year, we have added the Barber Quartet, containing the famous 'Barber Adagio'. In addition and as a tribute to the 150th. Anniversary of Hugo Wolf, we will play his playful and easy going 'Italian Serenade', so evocative in its depiction of strolling down the Riviera, on a beautiful sunny day with not a care in the world!
We also will be offering a new programme called 'String Quartets from North and South America'.
